Cascade Music CIC is a not-for-profit specialist organisation, dedicated to bringing high-quality live music into hospital settings for therapeutic purposes. Cascade’s musicians currently are in residence at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
Our musicians work with patients, families, and staff on hospital wards, engaging with them and offering access to creative opportunities. Music can provide diversion, a distraction from pain, and an alleviation of anxiety, and can offer a moment of normality in a stressful environment. It can help to lower heart rate and lessen the perception of pain.
